Dr. Sarah Davidovits Named Assistant Principal At Gotsch Intermediate School

On Tues., May 16, 2023, the Affton School District Board of Education approved the hiring of Dr. Sarah Davidovits as Assistant Principal for Gotsch Intermediate School for the 2023-24 school year.

“We are excited to bring Sarah on board. Her passion for supporting our students’ social and emotional growth and advocacy for all stakeholders is inspiring,” said Dr. Christine Powers, principal at Gotsch Intermediate School. “I am confident that her experience as a teacher and administrator in both the general education and special education settings will have a positive impact on our school, students, and staff.”

Davidovits has served as a Special School District (SSD) teacher for Ladue School District since 2020, and as an SSD administrator and Special Education Coordinator in Lindbergh Schools for two years prior. She also serves as an educational consultant for multi-tiered systems of support for a private high school and elementary schools to create systems to provide supports for students with cognitive and social emotional challenges.

“It is with the utmost humility and gratitude that I enter the role of assistant principal at Gotsch Intermediate, under the leadership of Dr. Powers.” said Davidovits. “I am so excited to support student success in this capacity in the Affton School District, and am eager to meet all of the staff, students, and families to partner in actualizing the district's mission and vision.” 

In addition to her administrative experience, Davidovits served as an occupational therapist and special education teacher for 14 years in Missouri, California, and New York. She earned a bachelor of science in occupational science and a master’s degree in occupational therapy from Saint Louis University, as well as a master’s degree in educational administration and a doctorate in educational leadership from Maryville University in St. Louis, Mo.

Davidovits was born and raised in St. Louis and has been married to her husband, Todd, for 23 years. They have six children ranging in age from 21 to 9. When she is not busy with carpools and practices, she enjoys dancing, choreographing, and spending time with friends and family.

Davidovits will begin serving as assistant principal at Gotsch Intermediate School on July 1.
