Filing for three seats on the Affton School District Board of Education opens on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025 at 8:00 am and closes on December 30th, 2025 at 5:00 pm. The three-year terms of Justin Carney, Jeanette Schoenberg, and Bridget Sinamon will expire.

Interested candidates must meet the following criteria to be eligible:

  • Citizens of the United States.

  • Have resided in the state of Missouri for one year immediately preceding the election.

  • A resident taxpayer of the Affton School District.

  • 24 years of age or older.

Candidates may file in the superintendent's office at 8701 Mackenzie Road between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning December 9th, 2025. The office will be closed Wednesday, December 24, 2025 and Thursday, December 25, 2025. On Tuesday, December 30, 2025, the hours will be 8:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The election will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. Under the provisions of Missouri Statute Section 115.124, if the number of candidates who file is the same number of positions to be filled by the election (three), there will be no election. If this is the case, at the April organizational meeting of the Board of Education, the district will swear in those who file.

Elected board members are further required to complete 18.5 hours of orientation and training within one year of their election (RSMo.162.203)

Please note: If the district is closed due to inclement weather or an emergency, board candidate filings will be taken by appointment, except for the first and last days when the office will be open.
